This summer, the online performance "#PhilAPISpiral" by Shuta Hasunuma Philharmonic Orchestra will be live streamed from Spiral Hall!

After the success of June’s “Shuta Hasunuma and U-zhaan's Spiral live session”, Shuta Hasunuma comes back to Spiral for another live session with 14 members of Shuta Hasunuma Philharmonic Orchestra.

The live session will focus on the songs of the digital album "FULLPHONY”  which will be released in August, 26th(wed). For the occasion the songs will be interpreted by Shuta Hasunuma Philharmonic Orchestra and special guests. Beyond borders, this digital event, will make you enjoy the summer night, wherever you are. 

The title “#PhilAPISpiral” bears the IT term “Application Programming Interface (or API),” which refers to connecting multiple items and further expanding their functionality. Thanks to technology, this event shows new possibilities to experience, enjoy and extend with digital art.

Shuta Hasunuma Philharmonic Orchestra
Formed in 2010.
Shuta Hasunuma Philharmonic Orchestra, is the pop and modern version of the Philharmonic Orchestra. It gather an ensemble of 15 musicians.
2014: Release of 1st album “Time plays- and so do we”
2018: Release of 2nd album "ANTHROPOCENE"
2019: Apparition at Fuji Rock Festival and acclaimed performance at Hibiya Open Air Concert Hall.
Shuta Hasunuma
Born in 1983 in Tokyo, Japan, Hasunuma is a versatile musician and artist, creating music for films, theatre, dance, and sound work with a focus on environmental and electronic sounds and has played concerts in and outside of Japan with his Shuta Hasunuma Philharmonic Orchestra. He also carried out projects in which he applied the method of composition in other forms of expression, such as sculpture, film, and installation, and presented in exhibitions. His work extends internationally; in 2013, he took part in a residency program in New York, supported by Asian Cultural Council, and was appointed as the Japan Cultural Envoy by the Agency for Cultural Affairs in 2017. His solo exhibitions include “Compositions” (Pioneer Works, New York, 2018) , “  ~ ing” (Shiseido Gallery, Tokyo, 2018) and “OTHER ‘Someone’s public and private / Something’s public and private’” (void+, Tokyo, 2020). He recently released “ANTHROPOCENE” (2018) and “Oa” (Northern Spy Records, New York, 2019). He received the new face award of Minister of Education Award for Fine Arts in 2018.
