Launched in 2000, Spiral Independent Creators Festival (SICF) is an open-call art festival that aspires to discover, foster, and support emerging artists and designers. Organized by Spiral, an arts complex in Tokyo’s Aoyama, SICF brings together creative talents across different fields and disciplines to present their work. The festival attracts a wide variety of visitors from the creative industries, including gallery owners, curators, collectors, buyers, and media professionals. Over the years, SICF has continued to expand as a platform for artistic activities, through encounters between new talents and visitors.
At the end of the festival, a series of prizes is announced, including the Judges’ Awards, Semi-Grand Prize, and Grand Prize as well as the Audience Award, which is selected by visitors. The winners receive the opportunity to exhibit their work again at Spiral. In addition to the EXHIBITION section with individual booths filled with original creations, this year sees the launch of MARKET, a new section offering for sale a wide range of items from fields closely related to lifestyle and displayed on tables and walls. Applications are now open for ambitious artists and designers whose work endeavors to transcend existing values.
Since the launch of the festival, the EXHIBITION section has welcomed the works of 2128 creators. Whether it is painting, installation, sculpture, design, photography, movie, media art, dance or creative engineering, each exhibit will be encapsulated, for 4 days, in a w1.650 x d1.650 x h2.400mm booth.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
・All nationality, age and type of work will be accepted.
・The applicant must be present at the venue during the event.
* The participants of the Group A must be present on 18 (Sat) and 19 (Sun) September 2021 and Group B participants on 25（Sat）and 26 (Sun) September 2021.
・The applicants may be an individual or a group.

SCREENING PROCESS
The results of the application screening will be announced to the applicants by e-mail in the end of July. The list of participants will be published on SICF website in the beginning of August 2021. Those who passed the screening process will be invited to exhibit at SICF22.

* The fee is the same for individuals or groups.
* The electricity fee will be charged if you use electricity whether it is for your own device charger or for a part of your exhibit.
* Lighting will be installed from the ceiling of the venue, it will lighten the booth entirely.
If you are considering individual lighting for your work, please prepare your own material and apply for the electricity supply option.
* Application is free. The exhibition fee will be required after the applicant passed the screening process.

CONDITIONS
・After the event, the online version of the exhibition will be made available for about one year.

・The visitors admission to Spiral Hall (Spiral 3F) area will be charged.
・The exhibitors who sell their works will be charged 15% of the price of the work in total by SICF office as handling fee. The shipment of the works is at the charge of the exhibitor.

Application form
The new section MARKET, inspired by Spiral overall concept of fusion of art and life, will focus on artistic creations in lifestyle, fashion and food industries. Creators of the craft and product design as well as chefs will be selected to exhibit their products for four days, in an area composed of a counter and a wall (w1,500 x w2,400 mm).
