Kuniko Mukoda (1929-1981) has began her working life as an editor at a time were a few women only were able to building a carrier . As a screenwriter, she has created numerous radio programs and about 1,000 TV dramas, and became notorious for imagining hit dramas. Her essays also marked the minds, she won the Naoki Prize for her short stories and her words focusing on day-to-day family life and relationships still resonates today. She is admired by many for her freedom and for the fact that she has lived her life as she wanted.
In 2021, 40 years after her sudden death in a plane crash in Taiwan, this special event produced by Naoe Gozu (TV MAN UNION) and under the supervision of Kazuko Mukoda, the writer’s sister, will be held at Aoyama cultural facility, Spiral. Aoyama is the suburb of Tokyo where Kuniko Mukoda has spent her last 10 years. A suburb she has loved dearly.
