Dance New Air は、東京・南青山を中心に、劇場空間だけではなく、屋外のスペースや映画館、ブックセンターなど様々な場所を舞台にダンスを通して新たな可能性を提案する国際的なダンスフェスティバルです。

8回目を迎える今回は「身体を透してみえてくるもの」をキーワードに、フランス・ドイツ・オーストリア等からダンスカンパニーが参加し、琴線に訴える圧倒的な力を携えた作品を紹介しました。スパイラルホールをメイン会場としながら、草月会館、シアター・イメージフォーラム、青山ブックセンター本店、ワールド北青山ビル、VACANT 等にもスペースを拡張、多様な身体表現を提示しました。

スパイラルでは若手の振付家を紹介するショウケースプログラムも実施、全会場で60,000人超を動員するフェスティバルとなりました。

Dance New Air 2018
Dance New Air proposes new possibilities through dance performed not only in conventional theatre spaces in the Tokyo neighborhood of Minami-Aoyama but also such places as a bookstore or cinema, and outdoors. For its eighth edition, the festival brought together a range of popular dance companies from France, Germany, Austria, and beyond, presenting compelling and emotionally powerful performances that explored the question: What becomes visible when we see through the body? With Spiral Hall as the main venue, the festival’s lineup of diverse physical expression was also presented at Aoyama Book Center, the World Kita Aoyama Building, and Sogetsu Hall. In addition, Spiral held a showcase program introducing up-and-coming contemporary dancers. The festival attracted total audiences of over 10,000 across the events at all the venues.
