2015年5月に開催した「SICF16」に於いて参加100組のクリエーターの中からグランプリに選ばれた、神楽岡久美による個展『光を摘む』を開催しました。

シリーズ作品『光を摘む』は、小さな鏡による光の粒の集合体に、鑑賞者が点描画のように映し出され、見る者と作品が呼応する様がとても印象的な作品です。作品自体が「アートを生み出す装置になる」という視点や、「光を捉える」という明快なコンセプトと、コンセプトに対する緻密な裏付けの提示が評価され、「SICF16」でグランプリを受賞しました。

本展では、グランプリを受賞した『光を摘む』の作品規模を拡大させ、周囲の環境を取り込みながらよりダイナミックに、空間インスタレーションを展開しました。

SICF16 Grand Prix Artist Exhibition
Kumi Kaguraoka “Gathering Light”

This solo show featured the work of Kumi Kaguraoka, who won the Grand Prix out of 100 participants at SICF16 in May.
“Gathering Light” is a series of striking artworks in which the viewer is reflected on a pointillist-like mirror, creating a dialogue between the viewer and the art. Kaguraoka’s work was praised for how it becomes a “device” for producing art, and addresses the concept of how we interpret light.
The exhibition expanded the scale of the award-winning work into an installation that dynamically incorporated the surrounding space.
