1997年の設立以来、CG映像から始まり、UI／UXデザイン、空間インスタレーション、プロダクトや建築に至るまで、多彩なフィールドで活躍してきたWOWの20周年を記念した大規模個展を開催しました。

本展では、その多面性ゆえに多様な印象で語られてきたWOWのビジュアルデザインの全容を一挙に俯瞰、スパイラルガーデンには映像作品のヒストリーや、浮遊する布の巨大インスタレーション「wind form_03」を展示、エスプラナードには、マーク・ニューソンとの コラボレーションによる日本刀「aikuchi」、大型ディスプレイに映し出される新作映像作品「motion texture 02」などが並び、スパイラルホールには「BAKERU」をはじめとした体験型展示が展開されました。

新作からアーカイブ作品まで多数を展示、WOWの過去／現在／未来が一体となった回顧展であり、その先への展望を拓く試みとなりました。

WOW Visual Design Studio—WOW animates the world This retrospective exhibition celebrated the achievements of WOW in the 20
years since it was founded in 1997 across a wide range of fields including computer graphics, UI/UX design, spatial installations, product design, and architecture. Featuring new works as well as examples from WOW’s rich archive, the exhibition offered a firm sense of how the visual power that WOW has continued to drive fuses distinctions between ideas, history, technology, and society while  pioneering a vision for a new era.
